C-C-CMJ and the Jets!
We started working on a certain cover when we had to play a gig last summer down two of our members, and were inspired to make it as loud and silly as possible. Since then, it has only grown sillier and louder, and we couldn’t be more proud of what has become a live staple and a source of endless fun for us. We’re so happy to share our version of the illustrious Elton John’s “Bennie and the Jets”: download it RIGHT HERE. Special thanks to Brendan Machowski, Dom DiMaria, and Ryan Jordan.
As we’ve been readying this song for release, we’ve been biting our tongues about some other incredible news. We’re unbearably excited to announce that we will be a part of Berklee College of Music’s showcase at CMJ Music Marathon in NYC on 10/24!!! This is one of the largest and most prestigious conferences in the world, and we couldn’t be happier to be a part of it. More details will be available in our show section as well soon.
In the midst of all this good news, there is some disappointment — we won’t be heading to Charlottesville on this tour after all. Virginia, we love you, just think of this as a raincheck. But Boston, Newport, Bridgeport, NYC, Philadelphia, Baltimore and DC, you best be ready…
See you all in about a month!
First Tour, Second Album, Three Cheers!
Holy crap guys… we have a whole goodie bag full of exciting news to share with you.
First and foremost, we’re going on our first tour this October! It will take us from Boston down to DC, and will have us playing a total of 8 shows in 9 days. We will be playing all of our favorites from Something New to Burn, but will also be using this opportunity to debut a smorgasbord of new songs live. So if you live in or around Boston, Providence, Bridgeport, NYC, Philadelphia, Charlottesville, Baltimore and DC, please check out our upcoming shows on this here website (more info will be added soon).
Also, remember when I said we were debuting new songs? We’re doing that because we’re going to begin recording our second album this November! We’ve been working on this material for a year and a half now, and can’t wait to share it all with you. We’re looking to release the record, tentatively titled Long Day’s Journey to the Middle, in the spring of next year. There will be many more posts and photos and updates on Facebook, Twitter, and around the web as we do so.
In the meantime, we have two busking gigs at the Shops at Long Wharf in Newport, RI in September and October — we hope to see you at those too. And keep an eye for out for a new YouTube video and the release of one of our favorite covers in the next month and a half as well. I don’t want to give too much away, but I will say that I have to go find ludicrously large women’s sunglasses for the cover’s album art…
Be well, and see you soon!
This summer, we are incredibly excited to announce that we will be a part of Alive@Five in Stamford, CT — a concert series that will feature Smash Mouth, the Beach Boys and many more. We’re honored and excited to be opening for Ed Kowalczyk, a fantastic songwriter and solo artist, as well as the former lead singer of Live, on 7/31. You can learn more about the event, and the entire concert series, right here.
We will also be playing at Faneuil Hall all summer long, and there may be other gigs sprinkled in as well. Our next album is basically written at this point, and we’re looking to record it in the fall. Stay tuned for more updates on all of this, and thanks again for your support.
